Peru is known for its diverse climates, landscapes, and the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. With the Amazon rain forest to the East and Pacific Ocean to the West, the valleys near the Andes Mountains remain one of the best growing regions in the world for our Darling Clementines®. Let’s go a little further south to our second country...
Chile is one of those countries that we can’t stop talking about! (Look at this picture, how could we not?) Just like Peru, Chile has a wide variety of climates depending on what area of the 2,600 mile long country you’re looking at. Chile may be the second longest country in the world, but it’s at the top of our list of citrus groves to have such a breathtaking view! Let’s now hop across the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean...
On the Iberian Peninsula, Spanish citrus trees blossom around Madrid, Barcelona, and Catalonia. The groves, however, reside in some of the best soil in the world. Quite a few Spanish citrus groves are actually pruned by hand instead of machine to ensure the highest quality Darling Clementines® reach your grocery store. Our last stop is on the southern side of the Mediterranean Sea onto the sands of Africa…
Though Morocco might be known as the setting for the classic Hollywood movie Casablanca or a camelback ride through the desert, the Northernmost point of the country has the perfect climate for citrus groves. During our visit, we were so excited to see how such an exotic country like Morocco is helping our sweet little Darling Clementines® get to you!
