Luke Sears (known affectionately by many as the “Clementine King”) started “LGS Specialty Sales” as a one-man operation. He was heavily involved with the first imported clementines from Spain to the U.S. nearly 30 years ago, and has since continued to develop relationships with growers around the world to help provide shoppers like you with Clementines year-round! The Darling Clementines® brand began as a way to help people easily identify our fruit that is always picked at peak of season and that stands out in quality and freshness.
As the LGS company has continued to grow, we now source a variety of citrus fruits from many of the same regions that brought us clementines. Our complete line of Darling Citrus now includes Darling Lemons®, Darling Oranges®, Darling Cara Caras®, Darling Minneolas®, and of course, the original Darling Clementines®. We source our products from Chile, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, and Peru, each with unique attributes that make their growing environments ideal at different times throughout the year. LGS also has other brands and different types of fruit, including Suavo Avocados®, Tiny Tim’s® mini avocados, grapes, and persimmons.

Luke, our founder, still runs the company today, but no longer as a one man show. Together as a team of employees, we are all passionate about sourcing the highest quality produce, creating a family-like company culture, and giving back to the community. We exist to serve our loyal customers like you and tell incredible stories about the cultures of our growing regions.
