We all know Suavo Avocados® are dreamy and delicious, but how much do we really know about them!? Are you storing them properly? Enjoying them while they're perfectly ripe? Making the most of every last scoop? And what kind of fruit are they anyways?
In honor of National Avocado Day, we’ve rounded up some fascinating facts and tasty tips for your favorite creamy green fruit!
Can’t wait to enjoy a perfectly ripe Suavo Avocado®

- You can speed up the ripening process by placing them in a brown paper bag with a banana or apple! The natural ethylene gas from the fruit helps ripen your avocados faster.
- Need help picking your avocados? Feel for ripe avocados by those that give slightly to gentle pressure - avoiding any that feel too mushy or have sunken spots. Skin color can also help indicate ripeness. Keep your eyes “peeled” for darker avocados - most varieties darken as they ripen.
Want to save some of your already sliced Suavo Avocado® for later?
- Sprinkling cut avocados with a spritz of Darling Lemon® or Darling Lime® juice and storing them in an airtight container in the fridge can prevent browning.
- Leaving the pit in your avocado helps slow oxidation - especially when paired with a splash of Darling Lime® juice! Cover tightly with plastic wrap or store in a container.
- Freeze your avocados! For best results, mash with a little Darling Lime® juice and store in a freezer-safe container.
