Our grape season is in full swing, and we have creative ways to enjoy these beyond just healthy snacking. You may be surprised by #7…
Creative Uses for Grapes (Beyond Snacking)
- Decorate a Tablescape- setting a table doesn’t have to be expensive or fussy. Grapes are an easy, organic, and cost effective way to dress up your centerpiece. (Hack: use a cake stand to display to add height and “movement” with grapes draping over the edge)
- “Anchor” Your Cheese Board- use multicolor grapes as the base of your cheeseboard and fill in items around it!
- Freeze- make bite-sized “popsicles” in one easy step- stick a bag of grapes in the freezer overnight!
- Roast- toss with olive oil, salt and pepper and roast at 400 about 30 minutes until browned and caramelized. Add into salads or use to top pizza, meat, or fish.
- Compote- boil and simmer whole grapes with sugar, spices, salt, and lemon juice until mixture becomes thick and syrupy. Stir in a pat of butter at the end for an extra silky texture.
- DIY Jam- puree grapes and bring to a moderate boil along with lemon juice and sugar to taste, stirring and skimming foam occasionally until pulp is broken down, about 20 minutes
- Pickle (yes, really!)- bring grapes, vinegar, water, sugar, and pickling spices to a boil for 1 minute and let cool completely before storing in a jar in the refrigerator. Let sit for a day before enjoying within a week.
- Salsa-fy- Grapes are a perfect addition to a sweet and savory salsa. Our favorite combination is grapes, avocado, pineapple, jalapeno, red onion, and lime!
- Juice- your favorite childhood drink with no added sugar!
- Dry- if you have a dehydrator, try making your own raisins for a fun DIY project
