But what you may not know is that while quality stays consistent, varieties change throughout the year depending on which one of our specially selected growing partners is producing at any given time. As we are in our Moroccan Clementine season, we want to share with you a few facts about this particular clementine variety.
From February to April, Morocco is in peak-season with W. Murcott clementines, a variety that has an amazing flavor with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, with a distinct bright orange color. You’ll have a full supply of Darling Clementines® in this variety on your shelves for the next few months, so get them while you can!
Darling Citrus® was one of the first to import Murcotts and have been sourcing from Morocco for over 10 years. Through the years, we have established strong relationships with our growers and worked together to find the best growing practices. We employ traveling expert advisors and inspectors who frequently visit the groves to monitor product quality. In the off-season, advisers consult on growing practices and help implement changes that can be made to improve product taste at harvest.
