Cooking Without a Recipe

We are all about flexibility and customization these days, and we’re realizing that cooking without a recipe and having to hunt down the exact ingredients is actually possible! If you’ve been spending more time in the kitchen and getting more comfortable, try this mix-n-match “bowl” formula that works every time.

Start with a Base

  • White rice

  • Brown rice

  • Kale

  • Riced cauliflower

  • Sweet potato spirals

  • Zoodles

  • Spinach

  • Arugula

  • Broccoli

  • Asparagus

  • Sweet potato

  • Squash

  • Zucchini

  • Tri-color carrots

  • Bell pepper

  • Mushrooms

Pick your protein

  • Beans or lentils

  • Veggie burger

  • Chicken (breast, thigh, sausage)

  • Ground turkey

  • Pork tenderloin

  • Flank steak

  • Salmon

  • Mahi mahi

  • Shrimp

  • Sea bass (try this recipe!)

Clementine Salad

  • Chopped nuts
